Registration Instructions - Digital Washington Post

Available only to current Syracuse University students, faculty, and staff who hold a valid @syr.edu email.  To register for a Washington Post digital account, follow these account activation steps:

  1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com
  2. Click on Sign In in the upper right-hand corner
  3. In the subsequent window click on the Sign up link in the lower right hand corner to register a new account
  4. After clicking on the Sign up link in the lower right hand corner to register a new account:
    a) Enter your associated email address ending in @syr.edu and choose a password (Do not use your NetID login/Password), and
    b) Click Create account
  5. Once you’ve been redirected to the Washington Post homepage, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner
  6. This will result in the menu being displayed, click Account Settings
  7. Make sure your email address is Verified, if not, click “Unverified” to be sent a verification email
  8. Click on the My subscriptions tab and Click "Activate free digital access"
  9. Your subscription is now active and ready to use

Syracuse University faculty, students, or staff seeking help for troubleshooting access problems to Washington Post's digital platform should reach out to the Washington Post Help Center or email enterprisesolutions@washpost.com || Inform help center staff that SU Libraries funds access for all current Syracuse University faculty, students, and staff.

Already Paying For A Personal Subscription?

  • Those currently using an @syr.edu email address to pay for a personal Washington Post subscription need to cancel that subscription prior to registering their @syr.edu email address for this Syracuse University Libraries funded access.
