Library Instruction

The Libraries may provide instruction to classes upon request.  Below are a few key points for the librarian instruction process and please see the Services- Instructional Services Policy for more details.

Instruction Requests

Instruction is requested either via the Instruction Request Form that is on the Instructional Services webpage or directly from a faculty member to a librarian. If a request is completed via the instruction request form, the information literacy librarian will coordinate with SUL staff to accommodate the request.

Once an instruction session is scheduled, it is preferred that the relevant SUL staff member create a record of the session so that the Information Literacy Librarian can keep track of all the sessions that are scheduled ahead of time. This can be completed by using the Pre-Instruction/Scheduling Form.

Reporting

After a library instruction session is completed, instructors should report the activity using the Post-Instruction Reporting form. The information literacy librarian will send out a call for instruction reporting at the end of each semester. Statistics are reported on in the Instructional Services Annual Report, quarterly reports from the Program Management Center, and periodically at Instructional Services meetings.

Below are additional documents for reference.
