The Libraries offers a variety of internship and employment opportunities to students. For more information about current openings and application procedures, refer to SU's online job application site (Handshake) for students. The internships are typically a semester-long and available to SU students for class credit.

Process
Departments within the library may supervise graduate student internships each semester. Student internships are paid thru academic credits. Below is the process:
The determination is made by the department supervisor that an intern is needed. There are two scenarios that bring an intern to the department:
The form(s) is forwarded to the department head, the dean and the library operations specialist for review and approval.
The department supervisor will then post the internship on Handshake (only to SU students) for scenario 1, or they will notify the intern of their start and end dates for scenario 2.
Note: For scenario 2, on the rare occasion a non-SU student may approach a library department to do an internship. The library still requires that the internship must be credit-bearing. In this case the department supervisor requests a formal email from the student’s school stating that they have enrolled in independent study/internship and the number of credit hours. Contact the above for next steps.
