Video Guide

A guide to identifying, locating, and viewing video collections.

For Faculty and Graduate Students

Videos may be reserved for future use and usage is subject to availability, so it is best to submit requests at least three days ahead of time whenever possible.

 

After locating the item in our catalog, Email multimed@syr.edu or call the Bird Library 3rd floor service desk at 315-443-4158.

Please be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Title
  • Call Number
  • Dates Needed*
  • Pickup Method
    • Bird Library, 1st floor
    • Bird Library, 3rd floor
    • Office Delivery (available to Faculty only)

* Standard loan period is 3 days - please notify staff if you will need the video for a longer period of time.

Physical video media may also be made available for students to borrow for 3-hour loan periods via Course Reserves.

For Undergraduates, Alumni and Staff

After locating the item in our catalog, visit the Bird Library 3rd floor service desk. Service desk staff will retrieve the video for you. You may request videos at the Bird Library 1st floor checkout desk if the 3rd floor desk is closed (click here to view service desk hours).

You may also submit a request for physical video media online through the ILLiad system. After locating the item in our catalog, click the link to "Request this item." Please note that requests submitted online typically take up to 24 hours to process. You will be notified via email when the item is available for pickup.
