Guide to Lens.org, Lens Profiles, and Lens Institutional Toolkit

Intro to the Lens

Lens.org is a freely available database, that includes several different tools, including a searchable database of scholarly literature called Scholarly Works and several patent tools including Patents, PatCite, and PatSeq. To learn more about accessing and searching Lens.org, visit How to Use Lens.org.

Additionally there are publicly available and searchable Lens Profiles that scholars can curate and link to their ORCiD profile. For more information, visit Lens Profiles.

Syracuse University Libraries has a limited subscription to the Lens Institutional Toolkit (ITK), which includes access to an API, reporting tool, and an institutional dashboard for tracking and analyzing publications and inventions. Reach out to the Libraries' Research Impact Team to inquire about access, riteam@syr.edu

The Lens relies on openly available data to create their unique set of tools. They receive funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, Amazon Web Services, as well as funding from the community to keep their literature and patent searching tools freely available to all. For more information, visit About the Lens.
