Newspaper Databases

Available only to current Syracuse University students, faculty, and staff who hold a valid @syr.edu email.  To register for a Washington Post digital account, follow these account activation steps listed below:

UPDATE AS OF SPRING 2025 - Once a Syracuse University user signs up for a Washington Post account with their eligible (@syr.edu) email address, they will automatically receive an activation e-mail. This e-mail will contain a button that will both verify their e-mail address and activate their subscription access all in one step

1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/subscribe/signup 
2. Sign up using your email address ending in @syr.edu, and self-assign a unique password ((when choosing a password, do NOT use a duplicate of your SU NETID password)
3. You will receive a verification email
4. You are now ready to start enjoying content!

Syracuse University faculty, students, or staff seeking help for troubleshooting access problems to Washington Post's digital platform should reach out to the Washington Post Help Center - Contact Us Page or email enterprisesolutions@washpost.com || Inform help center staff that SU Libraries funds access for all current Syracuse University faculty, students, and staff.

• Those currently using an @syr.edu email address to pay for a personal Washington Post subscription need to cancel that subscription prior to registering their @syr.edu email address for this Syracuse University Libraries funded access.
