The Together We Thrive focuses on building a SU community that focuses on compassion, connection, and well being. This initiative promotes thriving and personal growth for students.
Along with this initiative is a four week program of 75 minute sessions with topics that center around centering our values, positive self-talk, how to manage stress, and more. More programming is being created for the academic year by partnering with other campus programs to engage and build discussions.

Our counseling team at the Barnes Center at The Arch offers you a strong support network of staff therapists who are dedicated to your well-being. This counseling is completely confidential, and just a phone call away. Even if it’s just managing the stress that can come with being a college student, we’ll help you face challenges and navigate through university life. Barnes Center is the hub for SU student health and wellness opportunities through the various recreation activities provided as well as the special programs they provide. The Special Programs aim to empower students and unite the community.
These programs include Flu Clinics to receive the flu vaccine, Bulk Sex Health Supplies to distribute free sexual health supplies, Get Yourself Tested to encourage students to get tested for STIs for free and confidential screenings, and more.

Recovery Support at Barnes provides resources and community for those seeking support with alcohol consumption. On-Campus Resources include Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings, Seeking Sobriety Group Counseling, and Prevention Group Counseling.
Substance Use Services provides On-Campus and Off-Campus Resources for support for combatting substance use or are interested in a sober lifestyle. Resources include the Substance Free Living Learning Community, Crouse Chemical Dependency Treatment Services, SMART Recovery Meetings, and more.
