Service Souvenirs: Objects that Speak Our Stories, Nov. 1-27, 2024: Home

By invitation from the Libraries, student veterans created a collection of items from their time in service that hold special meaning for them as it connects to place. These are on display for the month of November 2024 in honor of Veterans Day.

These objects from places we have traveled while serving are reminders of the experiences and connections we built in the military. They represent the locations and cultures we were immersed in during our time in service; each place we visited and each person we interacted with enhanced those journeys immeasurably.

The diverse items showcased in this exhibit illustrate the stories of individuals who matured within the military, each bringing their own unique perspective. These are things we treasure from our collective journey, souvenirs that reveal glimpses into our interests and concerns. They serve as reflections on places we have been and our accomplishments, speaking to the unique paths we have taken.
