Finding E-Books

Where to Start?

As a Syracuse University student or faculty member you have access to thousands of electronic books, but finding out which books you have access to can be a little tricky.  While many of our e-book collections are fully cataloged and searchable in either Discover or the Classic Catalog (SUMMIT), others require that you search the publisher's website directly.

This guide will help you determine what e-books are available to you either in our collections or freely on the web.

Note: Most library subscription e-books are presented in a chapter-by-chapter .pdf format, intended for viewing on a computer screen.  While most e-books do allow printing it is usually limited to a maximum number of pages per session.  Subscription e-books are generally not available for download to an e-reader such as the Kindle.
