Transformative Agreements and APC Coverage: PLOS

Opportunities for Open Access Publishing without Author Fees

Author Instructions

Starting in 2022, Syracuse University corresponding authors will be able to publish articles in any of the twelve PLOS journals without paying an article processing charge (APC).

PLOS has a number of models to support open access publishing and a few different platforms for article submission. The most important steps to take advantage of the Syracuse University Libraries' agreement to cover PLOS publishing fees is for the corresponding author to:

  1. List Syracuse University as the institutional affiliation
  2. Use your email address in the submission system

That's it! PLOS will work with the Libraries to make sure your publication costs are covered.

More information on the economic models used by PLOS can be found on their Institutional Partners webpage.
