These resources provided by the New York State Library, NOVELny connects New Yorkers to 21st century information. Resources below this portal are available to all New Yorkers without a password as long as one is visitng the site from a location in New York State, or via access with a NY driver or non-driver ID if not currently in New York State and/or via a Library Card.   • Gale Academic One File: Gale’s premier periodical resource, Gale Academic OneFile, provides millions of articles from over 17,000 scholarly journals and other authoritative sources—including thousands of podcasts and transcripts from NPR and CNN as well as videos from BBC Worldwide Learning.
  • Communications and Mass Media: Information found in more than 400 journals. Nearly 3 million articles on all aspects of the communications field, including advertising, public relations, linguistics, and literature.
  • The New York Times: Full-text access to The New York Times from 1985 - present.
  • Gale Diversity Studies: Library resource providing a collection of journals that explores cultural differences, contributions and influences in the global community.
  • Opposing Viewpoints: An online database that explores opposing sides of the most important issues, helping learners to develop information literacy and critical thinking skills.
