Introduction to Credo Information Literacy Modules

Welcome to the Credo Information Literacy modules! These instructional resources are one way that Syracuse University Libraries supports student learning by providing engaging and standards-based content that can be used in both in-person and online courses. The videos and tutorials on this page have been designed to provide students and researchers a foundation in information literacy and critical thinking.

Credo Information Literacy modules are instructional materials created by Credo Reference and specifically curated by SU librarians to provide information skills to students for successful academic, professional, and personal lives. These tutorials offer students several essential skills on research, information literacy, and citations to name a few. Included with in this section various videos on important topics, which support student learning needs and student achievement.

  • Research Basics: How to begin and navigate the research process, how to identify different types of sources, how to evaluate sources, and how to effectively communicate information.
  • Using InformationHow to develop visual and quantitative literacy, critical thinking, and cultural and civic engagement.
  • Citations: How to maintain academic integrity throughout the research process, plagiarism, the importance of citations, and various tutorials on citation style conventions (including MLA, APA, Chicago, and other citation styles).
