This week, you will learn more about advising and registration in your primary school/ college. Your FYS class will not meet together at its usual location. Be sure to follow the instructions from your primary school/college to attend your Home College Experience on course registration and advising!
The FYS 101 Home College Experience (HCE) provides discipline-specific opportunities for students to connect to and build community within their home school/college, through three programs planned and communicated to students by their primary school/college. While each school/college’s HCE opportunities are different, all are designed to foster a stronger sense of belonging and success within your home school or college.
You will receive information from your home school or college about available HCE opportunities. If you are unsure of your primary school/college, you can check by going into your Orange Success page on MySlice and checking your primary faculty/major advisor. If you are enrolled in multiple academic programs, you only need to attend your primary HCE, but are welcome to attend any event for your dual or secondary HCE.
For each school or college, two events will occur at times outside of class, and one event will occur during Week 9 of the semester, which may be during FYS 101 class time or outside. All information will come directly from your school/college and not from FYS 101 Lead Instructors or Peer Leaders.
