Using Dimensions with Altmetric Explorer

Altmetric Explorer and Dimensions are both databases provided by Digital Science, that can be used together for more precise searching and analysis. Dimensions searches can be imported into Altmetric Explorer, so that you can see the attention that specific groups of "Research Outputs" are receiving.

Connecting to Dimensions

  1. Begin by running a search in the Dimensions database. (Example - Search for the "Research Organization", Syracuse University, then limit to "Publication Year", 2024.
  2. Export the Dimensions results to Altmetric Explorer, by clicking on "See attention in Altmetric Explorer"
  3. The results in Altmetric Explorer will show a list of "Research Outputs" produced by "Researchers" affiliated with "Syracuse University" in 2024 that have received attention.
