WRT 205: Research Starting Points Guide [Instructor, Cynthia Pope - Fall 2025]

About This Guide

This guide is an SU Libraries starting point for locating resources for your work in WRT 205. Its homepage and subpages provide a variety of relevant library research tools and collections.  It offers far more options than any one WRT 205 student will likely require (including many that can be useful for research in other courses as well).  Be selective, and if you happen to have a focus looking into our local geographic region, paying particular attention to some of the news databases and other starting points that lead to sources and news reporting with a focus on Syracuse, the campus, the city, and the wider areas of Central New York.

Librarians

Working with Cynthia Pope's WRT 205 course sections this fall are  Michael Pasqualoni [Librarian for the Newhouse School] and Marissa Smith [SU Libraries Graduate Student Assistant & SU School of Information Studies].  Looking for other specialists as SU Libraries?  Visit this list of subject librarians at Syracuse University
