These links are examples of resources staff may access when experiencing life challenges (e.g. stress) and/or when they want to improve their overall well-being.

Barnes Center at The Arch - From climbing, to swimming, expansive programs, state-of-the-art equipment and more, the Barnes Center at The Arch offers a variety of resources and services to meet the unique needs of health and wellness journeys. Resources include:

HR - Wellness Initiative - The Wellness Initiative supports the health and wellness of faculty and staff by providing them with programs and resources to make healthy choices, and by fostering a culture of wellness, below are some resources:
- Carebridge: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Benefits Summary - The EAP is a resource to help you and/or your benefits-eligible dependents. The University’s benefit provides six confidential, free, face-to-face or phone counseling sessions by licensed counselors (the free six sessions are per individual per problem per year).
- Perks and offers - Wellness Initiative - For overall health and well-being, below are some ideas:
- Care. for Business - Premium, unlimited access to Care to find caregivers, tutors, senior caregivers, pet care, house cleaners and more.
- Excellus BCBS Member Care Management - For little questions or big health-related challenges, the Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Member Care Management team is here. This is a team of healthcare professionals that can provide support and guidance for your overall health and well-being.
- Diabetes Management and Nutrition Resources - Syracuse University’s health plans, SUBlue, SUOrange, and SUPro, provide eligible employees and their covered dependents with access to nutritional counseling, nutritional therapy, weight loss surgery, certain prescription drug therapies, diabetic resources and more.
- Active&Fit Direct™ Program - Whether you’re ready to kick-start your routine—or just looking to level up—the Active&Fit Direct™ program allows you to choose from 11,000+ participating fitness centers nationwide for $75 (plus taxes) to start, then just $25 per month (plus taxes). In addition, you can choose to participate for free and the program provides free access to 200 on-demand videos.
- Fitness Your Way™ by Tivity Health™ - Fitness Your Way™ by Tivity Health™ is a great way to get healthy and feel good on your own terms. It offers you the flexibility to work out at any network fitness location, on your time and on a budget that you can live with.
- Barnes Center at the Arch - The Barnes Center at the Arch features programs, services and offerings that promote holistic health and well-being, all in one accessible, centralized space on campus. Faculty and staff can use several of these services and offerings and have multiple resources available to them.
- The Couple and Family Therapy Center - The Couple and Family Therapy Center offers no cost, confidential therapy services to families, couples, and individuals who are coping with life’s challenges. The Couple and Family Therapy Center is located at 601 E. Genesee Street. Day and evening appointments are available Monday through Thursday. For more information, call 315-443-3023.
- Ergonomic Workstations - Office ergonomics is about creating a work environment that minimizes your pain, discomfort, and risk of injury on the job.
- Healthy Habits at Work - There are so many opportunities to incorporate health and wellness into our daily lives and especially at work—where we spend a good portion of our time. Find ways to move more, eat well and recharge at work!
- Meditation and Stress Reduction - From Meditation at Hendricks to DeStress Monday to the MindSpa, there are a variety of opportunities for faculty and staff to find ways to reduce stress.
- Move It Monday - Move it Monday and Monday Mile are brought to you by Healthy Monday Syracuse. They are both a fun way to get in your daily exercise. Move it Monday offers a variety of free fitness classes. Monday Mile easily works into your schedule and helps to jump start your week.
