IRP 412 Global Governance: Looking for Journals

Research Tip - Browsing Specific Journals

Research tip:  Often you will retrieve relevant primary documents, articles and other source materials by entering keyword search queries.  However, selecting and systematically browsing the contents (and tables of contents) for specific scholarly journal titles relevant to your subject matter (broadly defined) is also a solid information retrieval tactic.

When reviewing search results online and from queries entered into licensed article databases, be on the look out for patterns regarding specific journal titles you observe on those results lists again and again (on the lists themselves and/or as cited within other articles).  Use the journal locator to navigate to the current and older back issues of those journal titles specifically.

Using the Journal locator, you can determine if SU Libraries subscribes to a scholarly journal (or to any magazine, newspaper or other periodical title).
