How to request API Access

The University Dimensions subscription includes a limited number of API connections that are available to researchers interested in doing a more in-depth analysis of the documents included within Dimensions.

API access is by request-only. Requestors must be currently affiliated with SU, and must have a personal account setup in Dimensions. To set up a personal account, access Dimensions, then click on "Register". Create an account using your SU email address.

API Request Process:

Send an email to your designated subject librarian
In the email, include a statement about why you're interested in API access, details about the project, and the project timeline
If approved, your subject librarian will contact you with instructions on how to access the API from your Dimensions account, and provide you with guidelines for use

Dimensions API Connector for Google Sheets

Google Sheets Plug-in
The Dimensions API Connector is a Google Sheets add-on which permits to launch DSL queries directly from a Gsheets window. The results are transformed from JSON to a tabular format, thus allowing further manipulations using the usual Google Sheets tools.
