Linking to Videos in the Visual History Archive

Here is an example of item level linking to a specific video in the Visual History Archive database (Shoah Foundation & ProQuest).  This collection contains first person interviews with witnesses and survivors of the Holocaust and other genocides.

  1. Copy the URL for the video of interest from the browser window  (in this case - https://vha.usc.edu/viewingPage?testimonyID=45964&returnIndex=0 )
  2. Manually add SU's proxy prefix to that URL (http://libezproxy.syr.edu/login?url=)
  3. The resulting URL for the title, inclusive of proxy prefix, would then look like this, and should work for on-campus as well as off-campus video access for all current SU NETID holding students, staff or faculty (https://libezproxy.syr.edu/login?url=http://vha.usc.edu/viewingPage?testimonyID=45964&returnIndex=0     )
