Linking to Titles from Academic Video Online

Here is an example of how to quickly permalink to an individual streaming video title(s) of interest drawn from the the database called, Academic Video Online (Alexander Street Press, a subsidiary of ProQuest).  This example uses a historical episode of the CBS television news magazine program, 60 Minutes, which produced a 2001 documentary on the 1999 Columbine High School mass shooting incident.

  1. Click on the link below the video player for this title, which is labeled, "</>Embed/Link"
  2. A pop-up window appears providing a URL that one can cut and paste, or alternatively, an embed code is also available
  3. Both options already include SU's proxy prefix (http://libezproxy.syr.edu/login?url=)
  4. Either of these can be embedded in your course, or otherwise sent to SU students of colleagues and should work for on-campus as well as off-campus video access to that video title(s) for all current SU NETID holding students, staff or faculty
