Directory of Non-Profits (Premium Access)

This GuideStar Pro database can be used to retrieve easily viewable lists of local, regional, and national U.S. non-profit organizations.  This contains a higher level detailed financial and background information about the purpose and leadership of these firms and associations than available at the free version of Guidestar.  Covers any and all types of non-profit required to file an IRS form 990, such as social services agencies, museums, hospitals, colleges and universities, arts organizations, and other groups.  Some COM 346 students may find useful that the types of organizations can be located according to a wide variety of combined criteria, such as

  • Number of employees
  • Location (including options to search by U.S. state, county, city, Metropolitan Statistical Areas, and zip code)
  • Populations served
  • Subject areas covered (i.e., core actvities of the organization)
  • Revenue
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) (i.e., lists of organizations retrieved can be limited to only those whose reported information includes data on DEI)
