Syracuse University corresponding authors publishing in Elsevier hybrid open access journals can have their open access charges (APCs) covered by the libraries' agreement with the publisher.

How does it work?
- Corresponding author must be a current student, faculty, or teaching/research staff at Syracuse University
What are the steps to publish my research open access under this agreement?
- After the acceptance of your article to a hybrid open access journal , you will receive an email asking you to complete your publishing agreement. Please choose Syracuse University as your institutional affiliation.
- You will then be prompted to choose your publishing path--choose "Publish as Open Access Article." The charges will appear as $0.
- Choose one of three Creative Commons License options for your article. Reach out to Dylan Mohr (dpmohr@syr.edu) with any questions you have regarding the licensing of your work.
- Complete the rest of your publishing agreement as normal
What are the requirements of this open access agreement?
To be eligible, articles must:
- Be peer-reviewed content.
- Be accepted for publication after January 1, 2025
- Have a corresponding author based at Syracuse University
- Be published in an eligible Elsevier hybrid open access journal.
