Questions to Consider
- Narrow your list to a handful, 3 to 5 journals, that could be a potential match, then rank that list based on your goals and input from others
- Consult with your co-authors about their publishing goals and which journals they prefer
- Talk to your colleagues or mentors about your "short" list of journals to get their opinions
- Reach out to someone you know who has published in these journals to ask questions about their experience
- Look at the editorial board and journal reviewers for the journals of interest to see if you know anyone
- Check to see if there are any calls for special issues or for specific research topics/areas from the journal
