WRT 205: Research Tips and Resources: Subject Databases

Guide for students in Nicole Moss Underwood's WRT 205 class, Spring 2020

Subject Databases

The subject databases can help you research your topics by directing you to articles and other sources that are related to a particular subject area. This guide show sample searches in two subject databases that may be relevant to your topic: Humanities Full Text and Communications Source.

Humanities Full Text Search

Place your search terms in the search box. If you have more than one term or phrase, you can use multiple boxes, such as art AND violence. You do not need to select any other search options at this point. You'll have the opportunity to do that on the results screen.

Humanities Full Text Results

On the results page, you have the opportunity to refine the search by source type (academic journal, magazine, etc.), subject, publication date, and more.

Communications Source

The Communications Source interface is very similar to Humanities Full Text but it draws from publications in the communications fields.
