Syracuse Community Experts Speak Out!

Department of Public Health Holds Open Forum on Coronavirus (Presentation / Panel Discussion Video)

Syracuse Community experts provided background lecture about the Coronavirus followed by panel discussion. Lecturers included (in order of appearance): Brittany Kmush, Ph.D., assistant professor of public health in the Falk College of Sport & Human Dynamics (SU), David Larsen, Ph.D., associate professor of public health in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics (SU), and  Kathryn (Katie) Anderson, M.D./Ph.D, an infectious disease clinician from SUNY Upstate. Panel members included the aforementioned lecturers joined by Peter Bell, professor of law in the College of Law (SU); Karen Nardella, M.D., Medical Director, Syracuse University Health Services; and Tracey  Marchese MSW, LCSW-R, professor of practice in the School of Social Work (SU) and SUNY Upstate.

Understanding the spread of the novel coronavirus (radio interview)

Syracuse University's Brittany Kmush, PhD, and David Larsen, PhD explain the importance of quarantines, clusters and social distancing as they relate to the spread of the novel coronavirus. The two epidemiologists, or experts in the causes and patterns of disease, are also affiliated with Upstate.
