Updates on seats
Effective April 1, 2012 SUNY ESF has unlimited access (unlimted seats) to SciFinder and SUNY ESF now has access to the substructure module of SciFinder.
Please remember that the desktop client formerly provided for SciFinder access was terminated on June 30, 2011. The log-in pused for the desktop client is no longer valid. You must register for a Web client ID if you have not done so. Please use the link provided on this page to register for an ID.

* More than 28 million single- and multi-step reactions, and more than 16 million synthetic preparations
* More than 2 billion predicted and experimental properties
* The CAS REGISTRYSM database - the original source and final authority for CAS Registry Numbers - updated daily
* All patent records, meeting CAS selection criteria, from 9 of the major patent offices are available online within 2 days of the patents' issuance
* Sequences combined from CAS and GenBank databases, which are indexed and linked to scientific journal and patent literature
SciFinder Mobile
You can now access SciFinder from your PDA, Ipad, or other mobile device. In order to gain mobile access go to http://www.scifindermobile.org/signup. Enter your SciFinder userid and password to sign up for mobile access to this tool. Use of Scifinder mobile is not tied to campusand does not use our seat license.

Off-Campus Access
Registered users may use SciFinder both on- and off-campus using the EZproxy authentication server. If you are unable to connect, receiving a message "Access to SciFinder is not authorized from this IP address" then you are probably not using the correct URL that includes the EZproxy authentication prefix. Bookmark the complete URL for SciFinder:
