RefWorks: Getting Started

RefWorks is a web-based citation management system that allows you to save, store, and manage bibliographic citations, and also to generate bibliographies in over 300 different citation styles.

Transition to the NEW RefWorks

      RefWorks is on a new platform.  Please consider transitioning to the new RefWorks before July 2017. 

Important considerations before switching:

  • Although you can move all your references from legacy RW into the new RW, papers started in legacy RW will not be compatible with the new RW. 
  • Mac users:  At this time Write-N-Cite may not yet work with Word 2016 for Mac.

To get started, Create a new RefWorks Login and Password      (Do not use your NetID password.)

You will easily be able to bring in your existing RefWorks references by  Importing Your Legacy RefWorks Database to the NEW RefWorks.
