Communications Overview

This site contains Marketing and Communications guides, documents, templates, fonts, color palettes, and other resources and tools for Libraries staff. Whenever possible, Syracuse University's brand guidelines should be followed. Never create a new logo or acronym; instead, use the appropriate logo or lockup for the department, program, or unit. These lockups have been created specifically for each department. Note, to ensure colors come out as intended, the CMYK version should be used for all printed materials, and the RGB version for anything appearing on a screen. 

All media relations inquiries should be directed to libcom@syr.edu or Cristina Hatem at cjhatem@syr.edu, who will coordinate to ensure the correct subject matter expert is consulted. All Libraries-affiliated websites and/or social media channels should be discussed in advance of creation with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications.

Before you begin:

  1. Establish a budget / request a MyCode for major events to track expenses.
  2. Make all necessary room reservations (submit Libraries Room Request form if needed).
  3. Review the Event Planning Checklist below. 
  4. Contact libcom@syr.edu to notify them of your upcoming event.
