  • SciFinder Web Edition offers many of the features of the desktop version of SciFinder Scholar. In addition, in this new browser-based version, you are able to save answer sets against your account on the server; navigate to stages of your search using breadcrumbs; generate and view keep me posted results about updated searches; analyze answer set automatically; analyze substances by substance role, elements, reaction availability, or commercial availability; limit substance refine by the absence of commercially available substances; and more.

  • Before using SciFinder Web Edition for the first time, you need to register for an account.

 
 

Register for SciFinder Web Edition

SciFinder Web Edition is only available to members of the Syracuse University community. Registered users may use this product on- and off-campus using the EZproxy authentication server. Direct questions or problems to Tom Keays.

Registration Checklist

Register for a SciFinder account.

  • The web version of SciFinder requires that you first register.
  • Registration requires that you supply a valid email Syracuse University address (one that ends in syr.edu).
  • Registration is not complete until you respond to the confirmation email.

Recommended Web Browsers.

The web version has been tested on the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer, Versions 6.x and 7.x
  • Mozilla Firefox, Versions 2.x and 3.x
  • Apple Safari 3

JavaScript, Java, and cookies must be enabled. A Java plug-in may be needed for structure drawing.

If you don't wish to register, you may still download the desktop program.
