Architecture: Legal, Statistical, Technical and Other Considerations

Books and other resources added to the Syracuse University Library collections

Legal

Syracuse University Libraries maintain current copies of both the International and New York State building codes. The current editions are housed in the King + King Architecture Library. MADCAD provides online access. Other code and zoning information is limited. Government sites including city specific sites are excellent sources for additional information such as planning reports.

Working Drawings

The working drawings are an excellent source for studying mechanical systems. Holdings are listed in Classic Catalog.

See the Architectural Working Drawings guide for more information about the collection in general

Materials

Good sources for investigating new materials and their properties include the online database, Material ConneXion. Check out the King + King Architecture Library Materials Library Site for local holdings of physical samples. A number of online sites offer detailed publicly accessible information, including: The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture and Ball State University
